When Alpine Energy was founded, we made a deliberate choice: design and manufacture in Melbourne. Not because it was the easiest path, but because we believed - and still believe - that Australia needs a homegrown EV charging industry built on local engineering talent and sovereign capability.
The EV charging market in Australia has historically been dominated by imported products designed for the European or North American grid environment. These products often require significant adaptation, carry long lead times and provide limited access to local technical support. We saw an opportunity to do things differently.
Our Melbourne facility handles the full engineering and integration process - from mechanical design and electrical assembly through to software configuration, pre-commissioning and quality assurance testing. This means we can customise systems to suit specific site requirements, respond quickly to technical issues in the field, and continuously improve our products based on real-world Australian operating conditions.
Manufacturing locally also gives us greater supply chain resilience. During the global supply chain disruptions of recent years, our ability to source and substitute components domestically - and to maintain direct relationships with our suppliers - allowed us to keep delivering for customers while many imported products faced multi-month delays.
