Our revolutionary mGen charging unit brings fast DC charging directly to remote and rural locations without requiring any grid infrastructure.

Alpine Energy is proud to announce the commercial launch of mGen - Australia's first vehicle-to-vehicle mobile EV charging platform. Engineered entirely in Melbourne, mGen delivers 40kW DC fast charging from one electric vehicle to another, with no grid connection, no fixed infrastructure and no waiting.

The mGen unit is mounted on a trailer and towed by a support EV, allowing it to be dispatched directly to stranded motorists, event sites, remote worksites and communities currently underserved by the national charging network. A 30-minute session delivers approximately 100km of range - enough for most real-world rescue and top-up scenarios.

Smart energy management is provided by Arvio's EJOS platform, which optimises the transfer of energy between vehicles while managing thermal performance and battery health. NAYAX tap-and-go payment terminals are integrated directly into the unit, allowing drivers to pay via credit card, debit card or fleet account without requiring an app or subscription.

"mGen represents years of engineering development and a genuine first for Australia," said Alpine Energy's CEO. "We've taken the problem of range anxiety seriously and built a solution that meets drivers where they are - rather than expecting them to find their way to fixed infrastructure."

Commercial deployments are underway across Victoria, with national rollout planned for 2026. Fleet operators, councils and roadside assistance providers interested in partnering with Alpine Energy are encouraged to get in touch.
