Undergraduate Electrical Engineer
I'm currently in my third year studying Electrical Engineering and Advanced Chemistry at UNSW, with a strong interest in batteries, energy systems and the technologies shaping the future of electrification.
What fascinates me most is understanding how decisions made at the cell level-from material selection and electrode design to manufacturing processes-influence a battery's performance, safety and lifespan. I enjoy seeing how those individual cells are integrated into larger energy systems through power electronics and battery management systems.
Alongside my studies, I'm fortunate to be part of the UNSW SUNSWIFT Racing team, a multidisciplinary group developing the world's first road-safe tribrid vehicle. My work focuses on the vehicle's energy storage systems, giving me the opportunity to apply what I learn at university to real engineering challenges.
I'm passionate about the role batteries and energy technologies will play in Australia's transition to renewable energy. It's an exciting field to be part of because innovation is happening so quickly, and there are still countless engineering challenges to solve.
Joining Alpine Energy brings together everything I'm passionate about: battery technology, power electronics and solving real-world engineering challenges.
What stands out to me about the MGEN M40 is its ability to overcome one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption-delivering fast, reliable charging wherever it's needed, even when traditional infrastructure isn't available.
What excites me most is the real-world impact. Whether it's supporting remote communities, assisting stranded EV drivers or providing reliable power during emergency situations, MGEN demonstrates how engineering can solve practical problems while making a meaningful difference. Being part of a team developing innovative, Australian-engineered technology that strengthens energy resilience is an opportunity I'm incredibly excited to be part of.
