What started as a conversation about technology and connectivity is now a working mobile energy platform ready to be demonstrated live.

Ahead of Everything Electric Sydney, Alpine Energy founder Mark Wexler sat down with Carlo Sportiello from EXOR to talk about the journey behind MGEN® M40, the technology powering it, and what visitors will be able to experience at the event.

Their conversation comes more than a year after Mark and Carlo first explored how EXOR’s edge automation, software and cloud technology could be applied to Alpine Energy’s vision for mobile energy.

Today, that vision is operating in the real world.

Taking edge technology out of the factory

One of the most exciting aspects of the collaboration is where the technology is being deployed.

As Carlo explains, edge automation has traditionally lived on machines within controlled factory environments. With MGEN, that technology moves beyond the factory floor and into a mobile, outdoor energy platform.

MGEN combines energy hardware with connected software, communications and remote visibility, creating an asset that can be deployed where energy is needed rather than waiting for users to come to fixed infrastructure.

Through the integration of EXOR technology and Alpine Energy’s platform, operators can remotely understand where MGEN is doing, its charging activity and the status of the asset in the field.

Connectivity through Telstra and Starlink also opens the door to managing MGEN units across geographically dispersed fleets and locations.

MGEN has been built as an enterprise-level hardware and software platform - not simply a charger mounted on a vehicle.

At Everything Electric Sydney, visitors will have the opportunity to see MGEN® M40 operating live.

One of the demonstrations will showcase a simple but powerful idea: “jumper leads for an EV.”

MGEN can deliver up to 40 kW DC fast charging directly where it is required, allowing one energy source to provide meaningful charge to another EV without relying on a fixed public charging station.

In approximately 15 minutes, MGEN can provide an average EV with around 65 kilometres of additional range. *

But the technology has been designed around a much bigger question:

What if energy infrastructure could move?

A mobile, connected energy platform creates possibilities well beyond roadside EV charging - including remote worksites, temporary power, fleet operations, utilities, emergency response and locations where grid access is unavailable, constrained or disrupted.
